Alexander The Great had legendary generals like Ptolemy, Seleucus, Lysimachus, Cassander who all went on to run their own kingdoms after Alexander died. Ptolemy went on to start his own empire, the Ptolemaic Dynasty that lasted for 300 years. How did they keep guys like that in 1 army without it getting ruined by egos? Genghis Khan had legendary generals like Jebe and Subutai. Subutai, by himself went to Europe with a scouting party of 30K men mopped the floor with everyone along to way including the famous Knights Templar. All 3 of those guys were in the same military together! That’s like having the top 3 basketball players of all time on one team AT THE SAME TIME!
