Writing an article about Syria is difficult because there are so many different players involved. Sometimes even I get confused, and if I'm confused, I know most people are completely lost. I tend to stay away from the minutiae when speaking about Syria and mostly stick to broader strategic overviews, where I'm more comfortable. Guess what? That's what we'll be doing today, so strap in.
