Ukraine War Update 4/18/2024 - Trump, Macron & Glide Bombs
What's been going on these past few weeks?
I haven’t given you guys a Ukraine war update in a while so here we go. There’s nothing really exiting happening but I think what’s happening right now will shape the future of that region.

In the past few months US aid to Ukraine has been held up due to internal fighting. In that time Russia has been advancing in Ukraine, they gained less than 1% of Ukrainian territory.

Yes I know, just bear with me.
During the first gulf war the US Airforce was having an issue with their laser guided bombs, they only worked in good weather conditions. So a lot of pilots resorted dropping dumb bombs that were not very accurate. Unacceptable! The air force said they wanted new bombs and new bombs they got. In 1992 research started on making an all-weather smart bomb. In 1997, out of that research the US got the Joint Direct Attack Munition aka JDAM. They figured out if you take a dumb bomb like the GBU-31 and strap a tail with GPS and fins to the back of it, you get a smart all-weather bomb that can glide itself to targets.
Russia just figured this out not too long ago and started using them heavily against Ukraine. Now their jets can stay behind their front lines and swing over a huge glide bomb towards Ukrainian positions. All this being said, Ukraine is currently without US aid and Russia can barely capitalize on it, hard to find excuses for this.
